Astra Escrow

Clear agreements. Secured payments.

Coming soon.

Overview

Astra Escrow helps individuals and businesses transact with greater confidence. Funds are locked in a smart contract before work begins and released as agreed conditions are met.

Whether you’re hiring a developer, delivering a creative project or managing a business agreement, Astra Escrow connects payment to delivery, with clear milestones and a structured process for resolving disputes.

Agree first. Fund upfront. Release in stages.

Every transaction starts with an agreement between the buyer and seller: what will be delivered, when it is due and how much will be paid.

The buyer funds the escrow, locking the agreed amount in an on-chain smart contract. The seller can then begin work knowing the payment has been committed.

As work is delivered and approved, the corresponding funds are released.

Milestones that match the work

Split a transaction into milestones with separate amounts, deadlines and delivery requirements.

This gives buyers a way to review progress before approving each payment, while sellers can receive payment for completed stages without waiting for the entire project to finish.

If the scope or timeline changes, sellers can request an extension for the buyer to review. Changes follow the agreement’s rules rather than relying on informal messages.

Funds secured on-chain

Escrow funds are locked in smart contracts rather than held as a conventional platform balance. Neither buyer nor seller can withdraw the locked funds outside the escrow’s release, cancellation or dispute rules.

The contracts execute fund movements according to those rules, including the outcome of a dispute reviewed by Astra.

Optional multi-signature controls will support agreements that require multiple approvals before funds are released.

Astra Escrow will launch on EVM networks, with Solana support planned.

A clear process when parties disagree

If there is a disagreement over delivery or payment, either party can open a dispute and submit supporting evidence.

Astra reviews the agreement, the submitted work and the evidence from both sides. The resulting decision determines how the disputed funds are distributed, and the smart contract executes that outcome.

A resolution can include a partial split between the parties where appropriate. Opening a dispute pauses automatic release of the disputed funds until the case is resolved.

Protection against indefinite delays

Once a seller submits delivery, the buyer has a review window to approve it or raise a dispute.

This gives buyers time to review the work while preventing completed deliveries from remaining unpaid indefinitely.

Cancellation and refund requests follow the escrow’s agreed rules, taking account of timing and the stage of the transaction.

Within the Astra ecosystem

Astra Escrow adds conditional payment release to the wider ecosystem, supporting transactions where both parties need more than a simple transfer.

Projects launching through Astra Launchpad can use Escrow for development, design and marketing agreements.

Businesses using AstraBanq to send and receive international payments can use Escrow separately for crypto-funded service contracts that require milestone-based settlement.

Creators and professionals using AstraPay or PayChat can use Escrow for larger engagements where delivery takes place over several stages.

These are complementary ways to use the products together. Direct integrations will be detailed as they become available.
